Natural Welsh slate is still our first choice for genuine period properties, since nothing else matches its look or its lifespan on an older Hertfordshire home. Clay tile, however, suits many Victorian and Edwardian streets just as well, and it's often the right choice where an exact colour match matters. Because we keep good relationships with the same slate and tile merchants we've used for years, we can usually source a close match even for an unusual or discontinued profile.
